In its own words, MembershipWorks does not take a fee or portion of payments. Your gateway, whether Stripe, PayPal or Authorize.net, charges its own rate. Veldun works the same way. Members pay into your own Stripe account at 2.9% plus 30 cents, and Veldun takes nothing.

Who looks after the website
MembershipWorks adds its software to a website your association already runs, on WordPress, Squarespace, Weebly, Wix, Duda or plain HTML. It also mentions a hosted option, with no published detail. Either way, the site's design and upkeep stay with your association and whoever holds the login.
Veldun builds the site for you. When something needs changing, an admin asks in plain words. Veldun drafts the change on a copy of the site and checks it for your brand and for accessibility, so the live site never breaks while you decide. Changes are included, so a new secretary inherits a working site and no builder to learn.

It also pays for help with the weekly work. Veldun fills in an event from one sentence and drafts the newsletter from your own activity for the admin to send. It sends renewal reminders on its own, 30, 14 and 7 days before a membership lapses, without anyone reviewing them first. Help moving across is included.
MembershipWorks suits you if your association already has a website it likes and someone to keep it current. Choose Veldun if you want the website built and changed for you, so nobody on the board owns it. Neither one takes a share of your dues.
