Veldun for Canadian associations

Canadian organizations' data is stored in Canada, on Amazon Web Services in Montreal. Plans are priced in Canadian dollars and billed in Canadian dollars.

Where your records live

Stored in Canada

A Canadian association's Veldun account runs on its own copy of Veldun, in Amazon Web Services' Canada (Central) region, in Montreal. Its member records, payment history, events and uploaded documents are stored there.

We call this data residency, and we mean where the records are stored. Veldun and Amazon are both US companies, so US law can still reach the data wherever it sits. A board that needs more than residency should know that before it signs.

Some of the work happens outside Canada, and a board should see all of it before signing:

  • AI features. When someone uses Veldun's AI features, the request may be processed in the United States. Claude on Amazon Bedrock has no Canada-only option yet.
  • Cover images. Cover images are generated by Google's Vertex AI in the United States, from the organization's name and the title and description of the event or newsletter.
  • Email delivery. Emails to members are sent through Resend, a US service, which keeps delivery logs in the United States.
  • Payments. Dues and ticket payments are handled by Stripe, a US company, and paid into the organization's own Stripe account.
  • Error monitoring. When something breaks, the error report goes to Sentry, a US service.
  • Usage analytics. Google Analytics measures how Veldun's own pages are used. It holds no member records.
  • Who can reach your records. The people who operate and support Veldun work from the United Arab Emirates and India. They reach your records by logging in to the Canadian environment, under named accounts, and every access is logged.
Pricing

Priced and billed in Canadian dollars

  • Starter: CA$139 a month, for up to 250 billable contacts.
  • Growth: CA$209 a month, for up to 500 billable contacts.
  • Professional: CA$279 a month, for up to 1,000 billable contacts.

Every plan includes every feature. Only the number of contacts changes. Free until you go live. No credit card required.

Wild Apricot lists its prices in US dollars, so a Canadian association on it pays a bill that moves with the exchange rate. Veldun bills in Canadian dollars, so the exchange rate does not change what you pay.

Members pay dues and tickets by card at 2.9% + CA$0.30, Stripe's standard Canadian rate, paid into the association's own Stripe account. Veldun takes no cut of payments.
