What Wild Apricot costs in 2026

Wild Apricot sells one product, priced by how many contacts you hold. Its pricing page says "All packages offer the same WildApricot features and benefits", so a 100-contact association gets the same tools as a 5,000-contact one. Prepaying takes 10% off for one year and 15% for two.

Every paid plan comes with unlimited admin accounts and 2 GB of file storage. The pricing page lists no setup, training or cancellation fees, and the free trial runs for 60 days, no card needed. You cannot take online payments during the trial, so test a real renewal only after you pay.

Three things that change the bill

The headline price is accurate. Three terms sit off the pricing page, and each one has caught out associations that renewed without reading them.

1. Using Stripe adds 20% to the subscription. Wild Apricot calls this the Payment System Servicing Fee. It applies to accounts in the US and Canada that collect through Stripe, PayPal or Authorize.Net. It is charged on the subscription from the day you switch, and Wild Apricot's help centre says it applies "even if you haven't accepted any online payments". At 250 contacts it adds about $197 a year, and at 500 about $370. You avoid it by using Personify Payments, Wild Apricot's own processor in the US, at 2.99% plus 30 cents a card payment plus a $4.99 monthly account fee. Taking payments by hand also avoids it.

2. Everyone in your database counts, and the limit is a wall. Event registrants who are not members count toward your contact total, and so do newsletter readers. Archived contacts do not. Wild Apricot does not move you up a band on its own. Once you pass your limit, its help centre says, "you cannot add any more contacts, including new event registrants or donors." A busy event season can stop new sign-ups until an admin upgrades the plan or archives old contacts.

3. There is no band between 500 and 2,000 contacts. An association with 501 contacts pays $265 a month, the same as one with 2,000. That step costs $1,332 more a year than the 500-contact band, for one extra contact.

Is it worth it at your size?

The table sets Wild Apricot against Veldun at four sizes, because that is the comparison most boards ask us about. The last row is the common case for a professional association: a modest membership and a much larger mailing list.

300 members and 400 newsletter readers

At 100 and 250 members, Wild Apricot is cheaper than Veldun, even after the Stripe fee at 250. At 400 members it costs about the same as Veldun before the Stripe fee and more after it. The last row is where the difference grows. That association holds 700 contacts, so Wild Apricot bills it at the 2,000-contact band: $3,180 a year. On Veldun the same association pays $1,788, about $1,400 less, because its newsletter readers are free.

When Wild Apricot is worth it

Worth it if

  • You have under about 250 contacts and a small mailing list. At $66 to $82 a month you get a website builder, email, events and payments in one system.
  • You take payments through Personify Payments or by hand, so the 20% fee never applies.
  • Someone on your board or staff enjoys building pages from its themes and keeping the site current.
  • You want a long-established vendor. Wild Apricot has been part of Personify since 2017, and Momentive Software bought Personify in January 2026.
  • You want free onboarding coaching and unlimited admin accounts on every paid plan.

Look elsewhere if

  • Your mailing list is bigger than your membership, so you pay for readers at Wild Apricot's band prices.
  • You sit between 501 and 2,000 contacts, where every association pays $265 a month.
  • You want dues to go through Stripe, which adds 20% to the subscription.
  • Nobody wants to be the website person. Wild Apricot gives you about a dozen themes to build from, and changes beyond a theme mean editing HTML and CSS yourself.
  • Your board wants to reach a person quickly. Wild Apricot's help pages say it has no phone support, and live chat only on weekdays (9 am to 7 pm Eastern, Monday to Thursday, and 10 am to 5 pm on Fridays), with an AI chatbot outside those hours.

None of the reasons to leave is about features. Wild Apricot covers the membership work an association this size needs. The question is whether its pricing model and its do-it-yourself website fit how your association runs.

How to decide before your renewal

  1. Count your contacts the way Wild Apricot does. Include non-member event registrants and newsletter readers. Leave out archived contacts.
  2. Find your band, and the next one up. If you are near 500, price the 2,000-contact band, because a good event season will put you there.
  3. Check your payment setup. If you collect through Stripe, PayPal or Authorize.Net in the US or Canada, add 20% to the subscription.
  4. Price your board's time. Count the hours someone spends on the website and the newsletter each month, and ask whether anyone wants to keep doing it.

If the numbers favor staying, stay. Moving platforms costs a board time, and an association that fits Wild Apricot's model is well served by it. If you are leaving, our guide to moving off Wild Apricot covers what to export first.

Frequently asked questions

Is Wild Apricot worth the money in 2026?
For a small association, often yes. Under about 250 contacts it costs $66 to $82 a month with every feature included, unlimited admins and free onboarding. It is poorer value if your mailing list is much larger than your membership, if you sit between 501 and 2,000 contacts, or if you collect through Stripe, which adds 20% to the subscription in the US and Canada.
How much does Wild Apricot cost per month in 2026?
$66 a month for up to 100 contacts, $82 for 250, $154 for 500 and $265 for 2,000, month to month. There is no band between 500 and 2,000. Prepaying takes 10% off for one year and 15% for two, so a 100-contact account prepaid for two years pays $56.10 a month. Prices were read from Wild Apricot's pricing page on November 8, 2026.
Does Wild Apricot charge extra if you use Stripe?
Yes, in the US and Canada. Wild Apricot adds a 20% Payment System Servicing Fee to the subscription for accounts that collect through Stripe, PayPal or Authorize.Net. It runs from the day you switch and applies even in a month with no online payments. Using Personify Payments, Wild Apricot's own processor in the US, or taking payments by hand, avoids it.
What happens when you go over your Wild Apricot contact limit?
Wild Apricot does not upgrade you on its own. Its help centre says that once you exceed your plan's limit, you cannot add any more contacts, including new event registrants or donors, until you upgrade or archive contacts. Non-member event registrants count toward the limit, and archived contacts do not.
Is Veldun cheaper than Wild Apricot?
It depends on your size. At 100 and 250 contacts Wild Apricot is cheaper. At 400 members Wild Apricot is $154 a month, or $184.80 with Stripe, against Veldun's $149. An association with 300 members and 400 newsletter readers holds 700 contacts, so Wild Apricot bills it at the 2,000-contact band, $3,180 a year. Veldun bills the same association $1,788, because newsletter-only readers are free up to three times your member count.
